Matthew Nickel is an Assistant Professor of English at Misericordia University. His publications include Hemingway's Dark Night: Catholic Influences and Intertextualities in the Work of Ernest Hemingway, and he has contributed articles on Hemingway in North Dakota Quarterly, Hemingway in Context, War + Ink: New Perspectives on Ernest Hemingway’s Early Life and Writings, Aethlon: Journal of Sport Literature. He has also published two volumes of poetry, The Leek Soup Songbook and The Route to Cacharel. In 2018, he served as co-director for the International Hemingway Conference in Paris.
